Many of us suffer from Headaches. Some of us get them frequently, and some of us get them occasionally. No matter how often you get one, you want relief. The treatment of a headache may depend on the type of headache you have. And there are many types of treatments available.

One way to treat a headache is with essential oils. Oils used for headaches include:

Peppermint- this may help with tension headaches, especially if applied at the base of the skull. It is also useful for migraines and sinus headaches. Apply at the base of the neck, the temples, and chest. An added benefit of peppermint, it has been used to alleviate nausea.

Lavender- lavender is soothing. A study conducted in 2013 found that inhaling lavender for 15 min had a significant reduction in Migraine pain. Lavender also has anti-inflammatory and sedative properties.

Eucalyptus - this can help sinus headaches. It can help to clear airways and eliminate nasal congestion. Apply to the neck, temples, forehead, and chest.

Rosemary- studies have shown that Rosemary has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. It may help with headaches, especially tension-type and migraines.
