Have you heard of Ear Seeds? How about Auricular Therapy? What about Acupuncture or Acupressure?
Most of us have heard of acupuncture. The first record of it was in the ancient Chinese Medicine Book, Nei Jing. Acupuncture uses tiny needles inserted into the skin at various points on the body or ears. This helps to keep Qi (the body's energy) flowing, allowing the body to heal. Acupressure uses the same theories except the practitioner holds pressure on the acupuncture points instead of using needles. Ear Seeds are a form of acupressure. Auricular Therapy is a general term that covers Ear Acupressure, Acupuncture, and Ear Seeds.

Ear Seeds are seeds from the Vaccaria plant. They are used because of their size and because they are very smooth. The seeds are held onto the ear with adhesive tape, similar to a Band-Aid. They generally stay on for 3-5 days. It is recommended that you give your ears at least 8 hours to rest before reapplying new ear seeds.
Ear seeds can be used to help relieve headaches, muscle and joint pain, allergies, insomnia, anxiety, depression, motion sickness, stress, and many other conditions. they have also been used to help with smoking cessation and weight loss.
You may be wondering how you can try ear seeds. There are several ways, you can buy them online and in stores. They come in kits, specific to the condition you are trying to treat. They usually have enough ear seeds for a few applications, a map of where you should place the ear seeds, and sometimes a pair of tweezers. You can also buy them in bulk without a map. You can find a practitioner who can place them on your ears for you. This is the best method, especially if you want to treat multiple problems or have a complicated issue. Your ear-seed practitioner can speak to you about your issues and come up with an individualized protocol for you.
